Fifteen!!!

Wow - I can not believe that 15 years ago today...Beth and I became parents.
That is crazy!
(More to the point...we are getting old!!)

In our decade and a half of parenting, I think we have done a lot of things right, and a lot of things wrong.....
but you know what...where we fall short, God does not.....He picks us up and picks up the slack in the process... through family, friends, mentors and teachers - that is sooo cool and we are sooo thankful!

Thanks to everyone - for investing yourselves in Katelyn - and the rest of us.....we are so blessed and thankful!

Emily has been asking to get her ears pierced for a while now, but truth be told,  dad was chicken (basically).

Anyway, after church on Sunday she did it!!!

We walked down the way to Claire's, with friends: Mac, Cat, Darcy, Cecilia and the rest of the fam - all cheering her on.

The tears came, but she didn't make a peep  - one ear after the next - back to back - what a little trooper!

She is so happy with her big decision.

soccer champanionship ceremony

SOCCER SEASON IS OVER-WE LOST

Well soccer season in the Varca house is officially over. Josh's team lost the championship game 3-2 in two periods of overtime. but they had a great season finishing in second place with only 8 players for most of the season when the other teams were playing 8. WAY TO GO STRIKERS!!!!!

Baseball season is next which we are taking a break from this year. The next sport we will be playing is basketball. What will we do till then? sounds like we will have some time for such much needed family nights. Our favorite thing is wii bowling.. EMILY ROCKS AT THAT!!!

Joshua Varca- MVP

Last night we sat in the cold drinking hot chocolate and trying to stay warm, while we watched Josh play in his soccer playoffs. He know doubt won the game for his team. While I am a proud parent talking, the other parents said the same thing. He was playing goalie, and probably stopped about 7 goals. some of his saves were like I was watching a professional game. Now if only I could get him to put that kind of effort into his school work!!! Anyway they went on to win 2-1. Next we advance to the final round for the championship Sat at 2pm. 

Katie had a playoff game for her high school also, she scored 1 goal, but they ended up losing 4-3

Change is weird.

Not good, not bad, just weird.

Today was my last day at Wachovia Trust...I am unemployed now.....until Tuesday morning.

I leave behind people, customers and very routine daily tasks....some - I will miss, others - not so much.....My point?  

I guess my point is that I am not sure how I feel.  I should be happy, but I don't feel as happy as I think I should....I guess I will miss the people....and the familiar....I know it is beyond my control...I know that God opened the door and made this happen.....I am sure it'll be fine...

.but....

Like I said, it is weird.

TODAY STARTED SOCCER SEASON, THIS YEAR ALL THREE OF OUR KIDS ARE PLAYING. WE HAD GAMES AT 9AM, 11:30AM, AND 2PM

VERY TIRING. WON 2 OF THE GAMES, LOST ONE. SORRY KATIE, MAYBE NEXT TIME.

This REALLY happened...about a month ago, it was pretty funny.

SOMEBODY turned the lights on and went away for about 1/2 hour (the hazer (fog machine) went on at the same time too, apparently)

• When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you buy me the phone I wanted, and I learned that you do things for me all the time because you care about me that much.

Every year on take your child to work day, Mark takes the kids with him, since I am a stay at home mom..Well this week year his work has some crazy things going on and he is really busy.. So they stayed home and worked with me.

Well, from January till May on Tuesday and Wednesday nights our house is in front of the TV rooting for our favorite idol...

So, what are the predictions from the Varca house this year???

The finally we be a battle of the Davids!!

With the winner being David Cook!

Why???

Talent and versatility!  He is A better performer.

And I like his personality.

The only thing I worry about is who has more fans???

soccer season!!!!!!!!!!!

Soccer has officially started. Two out of our three are in soccer. Josh plays for the city of sunrise. His team this year is the strikers. Katie is also playing for the city, her team the ajax. She is also playing for West Pine Middle School.

It is going to be a busy soccer season!!!!!!!!
